October 2004 saw a new venture for DTKM & David Thomas when he took a step outside the “Organ & Keyboard World” in which he is well known. The idea was to “test the water” and put on a concert format show with two good friends Tanya Lee and Colin Wyatt in a small theatre and aimed at the general public. David’s ATELIER became both a solo and accompaniment instrument for a delightful evening with friends. The night saw a wonderful variety of “middle of the road” material featuring the fabulous vocal talents of Tanya and Colin with instrumentals from David. This first show was such a great success that the three decided to form a team and go on to perform several more. Late in 2005 the three were joined by yet another beautiful voice in that of Sally Darby, and so it was that the three became four, also permanently adopting the name and logo of:
The term In Harmony describes the shows exactly, each one featuring all four artistes in a marvellous mix of well known music. Together, the choice of material, the voices which compliment one another brilliantly, the hi-tech keyboards and use of lighting, plus a little gentle humour and stage repartee, all make for a great night of real entertainment.
The Summer of 2006 saw the introduction of the first in a series of “Themed” shows with “Musical Magic” debuting in East Anglia. This consists of a superb selection of hits from the stages of Broadway, The West End and the Silver Screen, now wowing audiences on each outing.
Winter/Spring 2006/7 will see other Themed Shows being added to the In Harmony repertoire which will encompass many tastes, from the Solid Gold 60’s to Big Country Classics, a tribute to The Great Entertainers with Christmas Magic planned for the end of 2007. Each show consists of 2 x 1 hour halves with a suitable interval, can be staged in venues of all sizes, and for special occasions a selection from the repertoire also works well in concert form.
During all their events the team hold their “In Harmony Charity Raffle”, always for a nominated local registered organisation.
The team are fully self-contained as they are able to supply their own High Quality Sound System, Lighting Rig, decorative Stage Backdrop and even a variable sized Portable Stage Unit. This gives rise to so many possibilities and enables them to put on shows in venues with or without proper theatrical facilities. Also, the team is pleased to be able to offer packages to fund raisers and event organisers alike, which give a way of putting on a show without the pressure of cost. This total flexibility enables In Harmony to do what they enjoy doing best; entertain audiences whilst putting something back into the community.
