A USB stick can be thought of as a filing cabinet with one large draw. Within the draw   we find Folders and within the Folders we find our Files. The ATELIERS allow us to have up to 99 sets of registrations (up to 12 registrations in each Set depending on the Model’s) in any folder. The Folders can also contain Song Files. For Registration purposes the Folders can be compared with a Floppy Disc used in early ATELIER models. We can have many Folders on a stick and the amount is only limited by the memory capacity of the stick. Each folder can be named and they are then automatically sorted into alphabetical order.

        For the AUG Stick we have chosen a 2 gigabyte stick which gives us plenty of space for growth as it equates to nearly 1400 of the older Floppy Discs. The latest Ateliers can read WAV Audio files which are large in size and can’t be stored on floppy discs. So whilst the principle is the same for Songs as Registrations, the Song area in a Folder can now hold three types of file. (Atelier Performances, Midi Files or Audio)  

If we think of the Stick as a Draw in a filling cabinet and that whilst most Files are in Folders, for easy filing, the Style files can be thought of as being stored in the “open draw” as they are not in folders. The ATELIER needs them to be stored there so that our Registration Files can access them quickly, this is done by using the USER button in the Style Selection Buttons then Browsing the Pages on the Screen.         The AUG USB stick contains 5 types of Files in different formats and areas within its capacity, Style Files, Registration Files, Song Files (Including Audio), Documentation Files (for Computer users) and Software (Organ Updates and PC Editing Aids). Most files are stored in Folders except for Styles which are outside of the Folders in the main area (known as the Root Directory). For those not used to dealing with computers lets take a few minutes to discuss the layout of a stick.

The above type of files can be stored in the “Open Drawer” or folders and can be accessed  and opened by using the organ’s Registration or Song menus. (At present Audio files are in the WAV format and can only be read by the organ not edited or written) The use of folders enables greater capacity and easy filing/sorting.

The above type of files can be stored in the “Open Drawer” or folders by a computer, but can only be accessed, opened and used when in the “Open Drawer”. This is done by the User button in the Rhythm Style section. Rhythm Styles can be edited and saved by the user on the larger models.

The above are folders  on the AUG Stick and can be accessed  and opened by  Registration or Song menus. However the organ wont recognise any of the files within as they are computer file types. So, if opened by the organ the folders look empty.

Once opened by your computer these folders hold all sorts of extras for printing and use in connection with the organ and like the other folders get updated each time we add more content.
